You must diligently grill ventricles. Too long and the blood evaporates. Too short and the aortas mush to the touch. The key is to avoid leaving them alone. Flip and baste. Let sizzle, never sit. Serve warm. Best with wine.

Poetry Tip of the Day:
I don’t include any context for my poems, and this is on purpose. I could tell you exactly how and why I wrote them, but that’s not the point. If I tell you, then there’s no room for conversation. Even if your interpretation is completely different from mine, poetry is great because no one is wrong! Yes, the multiple-choice reading exams and some of our English teachers might disagree, but I promise there isn’t a single poem written with any answer choices in mind. And luckily for y’all, I have test anxiety, so there will be no examinations here. Just conversations. So if you have any thoughts, please comment! There’s nothing a poet loves more than seeing their babies in a different light.
